We know that its been a while since we lasted posted our Car of the Month.

To make it up to you, we bring you something that’s extremely rare in our collection.

The World Famous 1933 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow.

“This Car Was Part Of The Harrah’s Auto Collection From The 1960’s To 1987 And Was Restored In Their Restoration Facility”

Not many are not well acquainted with the Piece Arrow brand, let alone know that there are a few brooding about here in the UAE as well. For those of you who want to become more familiar, please do visit our Encyclopedia section.

RAE has been up close and personal with a few V8 Cabriolets here in the UAE, but for reasons pertaining to privacy, are not able to post them.

Nevertheless, we bring you what has been touted on several occasions for the past 6 decades as one of the most important and simultaneously delectable collaborations of Metal, Rubber and Human Effort in car history.

This car is currently not for sale anywhere in the World except the Middle East via the Rolling Art Emporium.

It is only 1 of 5 cars produced in 1933, out of which only 3 remain in the World today. 

Born out of a meeting between PA Vice President Roy Faulkner and his designer friend Phillip Wright who had conceived an automobile with a totally new appearance – based on wind tunnel experiments and developments.

Twin spare wheels are concealed in the front wings, while the rear wheels were hidden bheind skirts.

Their rear compartments were fitted with a duplicate set of instruments.

The asking price for the production cars at the time – a staggering USD 10,000

It took three months and thirty skilled men to build the five cars, mostly by hand.

“In 1933, Pierce-Arrow unveiled the radically streamlined Silver Arrow in a final attempt to appeal to the wealthy at the New York Auto Show. The car was well received by the public and the motoring press, being announced with the slogan “Suddenly it’s 1940!” Pierce sold five examples but, since it was priced at $10,000 during the worst of the depression, the rich were hesitant to spend so much. The bodies were built at Studebaker, which subsequently assisted in rolling out a lower-priced production model. This, however, lacked many luxury features of the show car and still failed to generate enough sales.”

The Lamborghini Reventon. Hypercar or just Hyper Hype?

Ever since its debut, the Lamborghini Reventon has become a household name.

Back when we were invited to the Launch of the Maserati GT in Dubai at DIFC, many movers and shakers amongst the super car owners club there led me to believe that one was heading its way to Dubai, straight into the hands of a certain Lebanese businessman.

Nevertheless, here we are in August of this year and not a single shot of the car has been seen sent out over the net or in print – cruising down the roads of the UAE. With only 20 units world wide, what can you expect?

HOWEVER, this is the UAE.

With showrooms that are adorned with Carrera GT’s and Maserati MC12’s like they were mere kinder egg toys, one made its way here.

As instantly as it arrived, it disappeared just the same.

Here is what the first one ever – delivered to Vegas looks like coming in (unwrapped like the best Xmas gift you could imagine):

The Rolling Art Emporium is well connected. We make no bones about it. Your probably asking what the second car in the gallery above is. Read on to find out.

But first, more of my ranting.The problem with a car like the Reventon is that it is bound to be paraded around the worldwide market. How sad for Lamborghini that they now end up on the web as opposed to being cherished in a private collection.

But there is always a catch. The car may not be for export out of the USA. There are regulations that keep them stateside.

Want one? Why not 2?

RAE can get you one if you want it, not a problem at all.

Want a Bugatti Pur Sang? Again, not a problem.

How about an MC12? Or perhaps something as insane but road legal as FXX or an FXX with a MC12 Corsa engine mated to it? All available and not a problem.

The only real problem with all these cars is they are marketing exercises. Dont get me wrong – I am perhaps the happiest person alive to see these cars in the flesh and under private ownership. The problem is they circulate far too often on a global scale.

Even the Enzo, the F50 and the McLaren F1 have not been immune to this dreadful business.

In light of this, the Rolling Art Emporium would like to think that we cater to the tastes of the genuine collector, which brings us to our Mystery car:

The 1996 Lamborghini Zagato Raptor

Zagato launched an exciting new sportscar on the occasion of the 1996 Geneva Show.

A World Premier, the Raptor is a provocative styling proposal powered by Lamborghini’s classic V-12. The car features a novel modular cockpit lay-out with a front-hinged, one-piece greenhouse section which includes the doors, windscreen and the company’s famous double-bubble roofline.

From a traditional two-seater coupe, the Raptor can be transformed into a two-seater Barchetta. Following on in Zagato’s long tradition of memorable show cars, the Raptor is no mere dream car, but a thoroughly practical and feasible production proposition.

The Zagato Styling Centre (SZ Design) has developed the Raptor in order to ensure it could be built as a limited series. From the innovative tubular and box-section chassis to the exciting interior styling, the Raptor is a concentration of advanced design and engineering.

Fully certifiable for the road, this ultra-high performance, mid-engined sports coupe uses a powerful 5.7 liter V-12 driving all four wheels. Lamborghini carried out tests on the Raptor, after which it appeared at Pebble Beach Concours celebrating the Zagato marque.

Now thats what I call a truely exclusive hyper car with no hype about it…..

If you want it, we own it, so you can have it and there is only one in the world.

Welcome to our latest Car of the Month feature!

This month we bring you a present that everyone wishes the Xmas or New years would bring to their garage.

I am, of course, talking about the TVR Cerbera Speed 12.
For those of you who are not familiar with this one-off made car for road use, here is your chance to grab the real information – NEVER before published.

 How can we be sure? Simple really, the owner contacted the Rolling Art Emporium (us) to put it on the market for sale for the first time EVER.

Apart from being able to bring you a few up-to-date pictures, the Speed 12 has a dedicated website for the followers of the car. Those who have seen Sony’s GranTurismo game series will no doubt be familiar with the in-game car ferocity the Speed 12 brings with it.


However, it was much too tame for our liking and to keep things ‘real’- we found a very nice video (once again, from the Speed 12 crew) of the car in action at Silverstone. Turn the volume up, your playback size to large and enjoy every drop of pure adrenaline this car has to offer.


When trying to conjure up a comparison for the Speed 12, the only one that can really convey the message is like trying to compare the Lockheed SR 71 with a Boeing Passenger Plane.
Only in this case, there is no other beast to compare it with…..

It is a monster – and it is alive…..and don’t forget, it was built with one thing in mind – to compete with and destroy the McLaren F1.

Conceived in 1998 to do two things

􀂃 Win at GT racing
􀂃 Create the worlds fastest road car and not eclipse the McLaren F1 but to
destroy it

torque that he decided that this could never be sold to the public
In September 2003 it was decided that such a piece of iconic history could not
nor should not reside simply in Blackpool and so TVR decided that they would
sell it
􀂃 then started a bizarre process of selecting someone with sufficient
􀂃 driving skill/experience
􀂃 sympathy to the history of the car and its inherent value
􀂃 money to run it adequately
The car was lovingly rebuilt from scratch by the TVR Factory and during this
process the car made a few very high profile appearances
􀂃 2004 Goodwood Festival of Speed
􀂃 2005 Star Car at the Million Dollar garage for the launch of Sony’s
(Polyphony) Gran Turismo 4 ‐ where it is itself the star car
􀂃 Wit the march of technology and the absence of the need to comply
with any FIA regulations, some substantial and significant changes were
made to the car
o full carbon fibre body
o incorporating air ducts to drive air into the plenum chamber (i.e.
no FIA restrictors) enabling the engine to breath to its full and
ferocious capacity
o a brand new latest specification Hollinger 6‐speed sequential
gearbox (required to cope with the torque of the engine)
o the design and execution of a “bucket head” in replacement to the
usual “finger follower” head
o brand new AP brakes all round
o all of the bracketry, spacers, washers, etc., etc. machined out of
titanium enabling the weight to be reduced yet further


The Cerbera Speed 12 was designed for one reason only at that was to be the
world’s fastest and most accelerative car; whether in the British GT series as a
race car or as a road car. Back in 1998, Peter Wheeler, the then owner of TVR
wanted to race in GT racing and needed an appropriate race car but to
homologate it. The race car TVR needed to compete with was the McLaren F1
and so they set about designing a car that would eclipse it on the track and the
road versions for the buying public.

The first concept car (Project 7/12) was shown to the public at the London
Motorshow in October 1998. With its sub 1000kg weight and 7.7 litre V12
engine the promised performance was massive. A few iterations of the Speed
12 developed in to the Cerbera Speed 12 with its honeycomb Kevlar and
carbon chassis and body, 6‐speed sequential Hollinger gearbox. On the faster
race circuits the Cerbera Speed 12 was devastingly quick. Concurrent with this,
TVR started the process of developing the road car which evolved out of the
knowledge gained in the race programme.

Prior to its launch, TVR had been taking many substantial deposits from the
rich and famous prospective owners for this McLaren beating car. At the time
the estimated price tag was £245,000. In 1999 and 2000 the only road car
produced W112 BHG was first Registered in 2000 and once ready Peter
Wheeler took the car home just to try it out. By now, with a kerb weight of
~950kg and >850bhp the car proved unbelievably fast, and despite Peter racing
a Tuscan race car, he felt that the car was simply too fast to sell to the public.
Many disappointed customers who had committed to the car had their
deposits returned.

In September 2003, the current owner saw the car for sale by TVR via Michael
Caine, the then factory race driver. When he approached them he was told
that there was significant interest and hence he would have to present himself
to the factory at Blackpool to be interviewed by Peter Wheeler, Ben Samuelson
and Michael Caine to ensure that he was capable and suitable to be the owner
of the sole road Cerbera Speed 12. Once he had passed this ordeal the process
of painstakingly rebuilding every part of the car was initiated ‐ with the only
difference being utilisation of the fully carbon race bodywork (saving even
more weight and looking even more dramatic). TVR kindly allowed some
disruption of this process to allow it to be the star attraction at the Goodwood
Festival of Speed in 2004. A little later, in March 2005, Sony requested that it
also be the Star Turn at the Million Dollar garage to assist them launch the
Polyphony game Gran Turismo 4. The perfect irony was that this was the exact
car that they used to obtain its sound and image. To get it to the car park, TVR
drove it through the streets of London and this was filmed and appeared on
the ITN 1800 news. Two days later, it was loaned to EVO magazine who tested
it around the South circuit at Silverstone and then around the local village
streets. John Barker gave it 11.5 stars out of 12!!!

Since this time, TVR were able to utilise the bespoke “bucket” that they had
designed but were unable to use in the GT racing. Additionally, the current
owner has had his race mechanics fabricate all of the brackets, spacers, etc. in
titanium along with replacement of all of the brakes with new AP items.

The essence of the marque: just 20 examples of a design masterpiece

Clearly a Lamborghini, but nothing quite like it. A super car without equals: the Lamborghini Reventón is a road vehicle with an extreme specification and, at the same time, a limited edition masterpiece – a coherent style, angular with sharp lines, inspired by the very latest aeronautics.

With just 20 produced, each 1 Million Euro (without taxes) Lamborghini Reventón is a symbol of extreme exclusivity, yet still offering the extraordinary performance that makes the Reventón so unrivalled: under the completely autonomous design, the Reventón possesses the entire technical and dynamic competence of the twelve cylinder Lamborghini.

Lamborghini prides itself on being the extraordinary manufacturer of extreme super sports cars without compromise. Sensuality and provocation characterise every Lamborghini, with an aggressively innovative style. “However, the Reventón is the most extreme of all, a true automotive superlative. Our designers at the Lamborghini Style Centre took the technical base of the Murciélago LP640 and compressed and intensified its DNA, its genetic code,” affirms Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A

Born in Sant’Agata Bolognese

The Lamborghini Reventón has been entirely designed in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the original birthplace of the Lamborghini and the native home of every super car born under the sign of the bull. The design drawn up in Lamborghini’s Centro Stile (Style Centre) is fine-tuned in close collaboration with the Lamborghini Research and Development Department. Thus, the Reventón is not only “haute couture” but it also stands out for its elevated dynamism whilst being entirely suitable for every day use.

The Lamborghini Reventón is not destined to remain a one-off. A total of 20 Lamborghini friends and collectors will be able to own this extraordinary car and, naturally, enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving it.

The name Reventón has been chosen according to Lamborghini tradition. Reventón was a fighting bull, owned by the Don Rodriguez family. It is included in the list of the most famous bulls ever and is known for killing the famed bullfighter Felix Guzman in 1943.

Inspired by the fastest airplanes

The present day Lamborghini models are distinguished by the clear language of their shape. The coherent proportions of the Murciélago and Gallardo highlight their power and dynamism. Sharp edges, precise lines and clean surfaces: these are ingredients of a style reduced to the essential. Each element is created exactly according to its function; ornaments and decorations are totally foreign to a Lamborghini.

With the Reventón the Centro Stile designers have coherently developed this philosophy, inspired by another sphere where speed and dynamism reign absolute: modern aeronautics, responsible for the fastest and most agile airplanes in the world. This has created an extremely precise, technically striking style with a new vitality: interrupted lines and contorted surfaces create a fascinating play of light, giving the car incredible movement.

Made of carbon fibre and precision

Although it is based on the extraordinarily successful Murciélago LP640, the exterior design of the Reventón is completely new. Just like the base model, the exterior is made of CFC, a composite carbon fibre material, which is as stable as it is light. The exterior components are glued and fixed to the body comprised of CFC and steel.

The front is characterised by the acute angle of the central ‘arrow’ and by the powerful forward-facing air intakes. Although they do not supply air directly to the turbine like an airplane, bearing in mind the 650 hp, an abundant volume of air is necessary to cool the carbon brake disks and the six cylinder callipers.

Characterised by coherent functions

Naturally, both doors on the Reventón open upwards – since the legendary Countach this has also been a symbol of the V12 Lamborghini product line. With their asymmetric configuration, the large air intakes below the doors provide an example of the extreme coherence with which a Lamborghini fulfils its function: on the driver’s side it is large to increase the flow of oil to the radiator. On the passenger’s side of the vehicle, the air intake is flat because in this case, it only has to ensure the flow below the floor. The aerodynamically optimised flat floor structure terminates at the rear with a diffuser featuring an accentuated shape. This guarantees excellent road grip and stability even at 340 km per hour.

In spite of the extreme and innovative language of its shape, the Reventón not only maintains all the strong features of the Murciélago LP640, but also offers further amelioration in terms of aerodynamics, the important engine cooling system, the air intake system and brakes. The airflow and the section of the variable geometry air intakes of the engine and the rear spoiler (also adjustable) have been modified.

Owners of the 20 examples will be able to test the performance of his or her Lamborghini in person.
